Nora Bell Smith, 82, Church Secretary
Nora Bell Smith (nee Wikel), 82 of Vermilion Township, died Thursday, May 2, 2007 at Community Health Partners West after a lengthy illness.She was born April 26, 1925 in Berlin Heights and has been a lifelong Vermilion resident.
She worked as a secretary at the Vermilion Evangelical and Reformed Church for many years.
She was a member of the Vermilion Evangelical and Reformed Church where she was active in the Aural Club and the Merry Makers. She was also a member of the Farm Bureau. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, crocheting, and crafts.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Lawrence Smith, 2 sons, Alfred Smith of Sandusky, and Lauren Smith of Vermilion; a daughter, Karen Quinn of Pickerington; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Lewis E. and Elsie E. (nee Van Schvetz) Wikel; her sister, Elsie Gede; and a brother, Louis Wikel.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 4, 2007 from 5-8 p.m. the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. Services will be held at the Vermilion Evangelical and Reformed Church, Ohio at Grand St., Vermilion, Saturday, May 5, 2007 at 11 a.m. The Reverend William A. Seith, interim pastor, will officiate.
Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.
