Maria I. RiveraJurado, 33, of Elyria died Saturday, May 5, 2007 in E. M. H. Regional Medical Center, Elyria following a brief illness.She was born December 22, 1973 in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. She moved to Detroit, Michigan in 1997. She made Elyria her home in 2003.
Maria was employed at Willoway Nursery in Avon. She worked as an assembler for Mexican Industries in Detroit and in the kitchen of Dave and Busters in Utica, Michigan.
She enjoyed collecting ceramic figurines.
Among the survivors are her son Jeremy Perez of Elyria and a daughter Naiomi Perez of Elyria; father Modesto Rivera of Deltona, Florida; mother Maria B. Jurado of Fajardo, Puerto Rico; twin brother Hector Rivera of Fajardo, Puerto Rico; sisters Iris M. Carmona of Luquillo, Puerto Rico and Damaris Plaza of Inkster, Michigan; paternal grandmother Juana Monzon Bayamon, Puerto Rico; maternal grandmother Maria Deynes of Puerto Rico.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather Antonio Rivera and maternal grandfather Norberto Jurado.
Friends may call both Tuesday, May 8, 2007, and Wednesday, May 9, 2007, 5:00 p.m. until time of services at 7:00 p.m. in the Iglesia De Dios Casa De Refugio, East 31st Street and Pearl Avenue, Lorain. Reverend Jose A. Rivera, Pastor will officiate
