Janet Sue Bartizal, 52, Clerk of Erie County Court
Janet Sue Bartizal (nee Sommer), 52 of Vermilion, died Thursday, May 24, 2007 at Stein Hospice, Sandusky, after lengthy illness.
She was born February 10, 1955 in Fremont, Ohio. She has been a Vermilion resident for the past 17 years.
She worked as the Clerk of Erie County Court for 15 years and deputy clerk for 2 years prior.
She graduated from Fremont Ross High School. She was a member of the Ohio Association of Municipal County Court Clerks. She enjoyed her home, decorating, yard work and rescue dogs. She was involved in Fox Terrier Rescue Association and Airedale Terrier Rescue Adoption.
She is survived by her husband of 16 years, Kenneth Bartizal of Vermilion, and 3 nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Charlene Appleby and her parents, Loren and Evelyn (nee Beck) Sommer.
Private graveside services will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery in Vermilion.
