Joseph A. Michalski, 53, Life-long Resident of Lorain

Photo of Joseph A.  Michalski Joseph A. Michalski, age 53, of Lorain, died Friday May 25, 2007 in the emergency room of Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center following a brief illness.

He was born in Lorain on July 16, 1953 and had remained a life-long resident of the city. Joe was a 1971 graduate of Admiral King High School.

Mr. Michalski was a parishioner of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Lorain. He was a member of the Nativity B.V.M. Holy Name Society and was previously acknowledged as Holy Name Man of the Year. His hobbies included working with puzzle books, painting, and coloring.

He is survived by brothers Norman , David, and John all of Lorain, Edward of the Ukraine, and James of Amherst, and by sisters Sandra Kesterke and Elaine Czarney both of Lorain, Rita Raymer of North Olmsted, Darlene Michalski and Linda Rourke both of Amherst, and Mary Cogar residing in Chesterland.

He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Jane (nee: Harbul) Michalski, and by sisters Karen Michalski and Diane Barnhart.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain where a rosary service will be conducted by officers and members of the Nativity B.V.M. Holy Name Society at 6:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be Wednesday beginning with closing prayers offered in the funeral chapel at 10:30 a.m. and followed by the celebration of funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. in Nativity B.V.M. Catholic Church, 1454 Lexington Avenue, Lorain. The Reverend Robert Glepko, Pastor of Nativity Parish will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery – Lorain.

The family suggests that a memorial contribution be made in his name to the charity of the donor's choice.
