James Martin Haydin, 65, Veteran of the U.S. Air Force

Photo of James Martin  Haydin James Martin Haydin, 65 of Vermilion, died Saturday, May 27, 2007 in Community Health Partners, Lorain after a one year illness with lymphoma.

He was born April 24, 1942 in Rochester, PA and has been a Vermilion resident for the past 42 years moving from Midland, PA where he grew up. He was a Veteran of the US Air Force, serving between 1960 and 1964. He worked as an Engineer for Ford Motor Co. in Lorain for 30 years retiring in 1997.

He was a life member of Amvets Post 22, Vermilion and a member of the National Rife Association. He enjoyed fishing, boating, street rods, car racing and big game and safari hunting. He also spent his winters in Las Vegas where he enjoyed playing in poker tournaments.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Nancy Haydin (nee: Sutton), daughter Kim Haydin of Detroit, MI; brothers Michael Haydin of Tucson, AZ and Dennis Haydin of Vermilion; sister Marjorie Checca of Industry, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Lois (nee: Henderson) Haydin.

Friends may call Monday May 28, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South St. Vermilion, OH 44089. Friends may also call Tuesday May 29, 2007 from 11:30 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 1:30 p.m., where pastor Kristi Foster will officiate. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion where the Vermilion Veterans council will conduct military honors.
