Emil A. Bajus, 79, Veteran of the U.S. Army

Health Partners West after a sudden illness.

He was born April 17, 1928 in Cleveland, Ohio and has been a Vermilion resident for the past 17 years moving from Fairview Park.

He was a veteran of the US Army serving during WWII. He worked as the District Sales Manager for Metropolitan Life Co. retiring after 28 years. After retirement he worked for Royal Neighbors, of America a Fraternal Women’s Insurance Co. out of Rock Island, IL. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Vermilion, the Barber Shop Society, Golden Crescent Chorus, Avon, and the Heart of Florida Chorus in the Villages. He enjoyed camping, reading, gardening, cards and gourmet cooking.

Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Carol (nee: Pocos) Bajus of
Vermilion, daughter, Cheryl (Neal) Stiebeling of Maryville, TN; step-daughter, Debra (Daniel) Maxwell of Chattanooga, TN; sister, Evelyn (Bill) Hitchcock of North Olmsted; grand-daughter Alexandra Stiebeling; brother-in-laws John (Roberta) Pocos and Dennis (Kathleen) Pocos; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Andrew and Barbara (nee: Hayas)
Bajus and his adopted grandson, Aaron Bajus in 1998.

Friends may call Sunday, June 3, 2007 from 12-2 and 5-7 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.

Services will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Monday, June 4, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. The Reverend Terry Parker, pastor and Vicar Karleen Kinker of Trinity Lutheran Church will officiate. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery where the Vermilion Veterans council will conduct military honors.
