Angela Rose Provenza, 82, Catering Manager At DeLuca's Place-In-The-Park

Photo of Angela Rose  Provenza Angela Rose Provenza (nee: DeMarco), 82, of Lorain, died Friday June 1, 2007 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain after a short illness.

She was born September 27, 1924 in Cleveland and had resided in Lorain since 1947.

Angela was the catering manager at DeLuca’s Place-In-The-Park and prior to that had worked at DeLuca’s Bakery in Lorain. She had worked a total of 35 years at both establishments.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amherst, the Italian-American Veterans Post #1 Ladies Auxiliary of Lorain and the Sorella Club of Lorain.

Angela was a member and past president of the Lorain PTA and a Cub Scout Den Mother.

At the age of 72 she earned her GED. She enjoyed cooking, traveling and casino trips to Las Vegas and Detroit.

She is survived by her sons Salvatore Provenza, Sr. of San Diego, California and Nicholas Provenza, Jr. of Seattle, Washington, daughter Roberta Smigel of Beavercreek, 9 grandchildren, sisters Mary Cicerrella of Cocoa, Florida, Rose Mannerelli of Tustin, California and Bridget Schulin of Lorain and brother Armando DeMarco of Coleman, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her husband Nicholas Provenza, Sr. on December 6, 2005, parents Joseph & Mary DeMarco (nee Garreffa) and brothers Anthony DeMarco, Joseph DeMarco and William DeMarco.

The family will receive friends Monday 2-4, 6-8 p.m. at the Gluvna Shimo Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 200 St. Joseph Drive, Amherst. The Rev. Lawrence Martello, pastor, will officiate. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
