Glen Edward Starbuck, 66, Member of the Amherst Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie #1442
Glen Edward Starbuck, 66 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Monday, June 4, 2007 at EMH Regional Medical Center in Elyria following a sudden illness.Born August 19, 1940 in Kenton, Ohio, he was raised in Amherst. He lived in Vermilion for a brief time, but had been a resident of Amherst since 1963.
Glen was employed with Star Builders in Amherst for forty-two years, retiring in 2000 as a carpenter. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Amherst, where he enjoyed ushering. A member of the Amherst Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie #1442, he served as an officer for over twenty years, as well as a member of the ritual team. He loved woodworking and carpentry. In his spare time, he enjoyed bowling, horse shoes, and bean bag toss.
Survivors include his wife of forty-three years, Judy Starbuck (nee: Studd); his sons Brian Starbuck of Wellington and Kevin Starbuck of Lorain; his daughter Vicki Pijor of Amherst; five grandchildren; his brothers Bill H., Marvin E., and Dale Starbuck, all of Amherst, Don A. Starbuck of Wakeman, and David Starbuck of California; and his sister Norma Chin of Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Mabel Starbuck (nee: Dodds); by his brother Ray Starbuck in 2000; and by his sisters Evelyn Phillip in 1957 and Carol Pongracz in 1977.
Friends may call Thursday, June 7, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. The Amherst Eagles Aerie #1442 will perform a memorial service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 8, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. from St. Paul Lutheran Church; 115 Central Dr., Amherst. The Rev. Terrance Adamson, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Garden, Avon.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church; 115 Central Dr., Amherst, OH 44001.
