Ramon Luis Cortes, 54, Retired Assembler from the Lorain Ford Assembly Plant

Photo of Ramon Luis  Cortes Ramon Luis Cortes, 54 of Lorain, died Monday, June 4, 2007 in New Life Hospice Center of Saint Joseph, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.

He was born October 9, 1952 in Utuado, Puerto Rico he moved to Brooklyn, New York in 1967. He then moved to Lorain in 1980.

Mr. Cortes retired as an assembler from the Lorain Ford Assembly Plant, Lorain in the early 1990's. He worked there for 10 years.

He enjoyed helping his family, making people laugh. He was a big New York Mets fan.

Among the survivors are his sisters Inez Rodriguez, Matilde Cortez, Carmen Marcial, Alice Doris Rivera and Esther M. Perez all of Lorain; a brother Ismael Cortes of Saint Petersburg, Florida, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Juan Ramon Cortes and Virginia Montero; sister Juanita Oquendo and a brother Diego Cortes


Friends may call Wednesday, June 6, 2007, 5:00 PM until time of service at 8:00 p.m. in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain. Funeral service will be Thursday, June 7, 2007, 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. The Reverend Daniel Reyes, pastor of Templo Emmanuel Assembly of God, Lorain will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
