Margaret F. Nikolic, 74, Retired from the South Lorain Branch of the Lorain Public Library
Margaret F. Nikolic (nee Franke) 74 of Lorain died Thursday, June 7, 2007 in New Life Hospice Center of Saint Joseph, Lorain, following a brief illness.
She was born February 27, 1933 in Lippstadt, Germany. She immigrated to Lorain in January 1957. She and her late husband received there United States citizenships in 1976.
Mrs. Nikolic retired in 1996 as a house keeper for the South Lorain Branch of the Lorain Public Library. She worked there for 34 years. She also worked for Aqua Marine Lodge in Avon Lake as a house keeper for 30 years until 1995.
She was a member of Saint Mark Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church in Sheffield Village. She enjoyed her family and friends. She also enjoyed gardening, crocheting and reading.
Among the survivors are her son Aleks Nikolic of Lorain; daughters Vera Michalski and Christina (Michael) Hardway both of Lorain; three grand children and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years Aleksandar B. Nikolic in 1990; her parents Bernhart and Maria (nee Lutterbeck) Franke; a brother Heinrich Franke and sisters Lotte and Lisl Franke.
Friends may call Sunday June 10, 2007, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain. Where a Pomen service will be at 6:00 PM in the funeral home. Funeral service will be Monday, June 11, 11:00 a.m. in Saint Mark Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church, 1434 Lake Breeze Road, Sheffield Village. Burial will follow in the church cemetery there.
