George S. Kowalski, 92, Accountant

George S. Kowalski, 92, of St. Charles, Illinois and formerly of Lorain, died Friday June 15, 2007 at Rosewood Health Care Center in St. Charles.

He was born April 14, 1915 in Lorain.

George worked as an accountant at the General Motors Cadillac Motor Car Division in Detroit for many years before retiring.

He was a past member of the Catholic Church of St. Peter in Lorain.

He is survived by his sons James Kowalski and his wife Ann of Rhode Island and John Kowalski and his wife Mary Beth of Lombard, Illinois, grandchildren Beth Bloch and her husband John, Meg Kowalski, Kate LeCompte and her husband Eric, Paul Kowalski and his wife Laura, Kevin Hockett and his wife Margaret, Kim McNamara and her husband James, Jeffrey Hockett and his wife Laura, David Hockett and his wife Shari, Sean Hockett and his fiance Shontae and Eric Hockett, great grandchildren Ian Hockett, Aimee Hockett, Ellen McNamara, Jessica McNamara, Patrick McNamara, Evan Hockett, Aaron Hockett, Emi Hockett, Mari Hockett, Brelynne Steward, Aidan Bloch, Isaac Bloch and Hannah LeCompte and his sister Mary Fulton of Lorain. He was preceded in death by his wife Josephine T. Kowalski (nee Jankowski) in 1989, daughter Janet Hockett, parents Frank & Sophia Kowalski (nee Borkowski), brothers Peter Kowalski and Joseph Kowalski and sisters Helen Kallis and Julia Skorupski.

The family will receive friends Sunday, June 17, 2007, from 2-5 pm at the Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State St., Geneva, Illinois where a Christian Wake service will be held Sunday at 5:00 PM. Additional visitation will be held on Tuesday 4-8 pm at the Gluvna Shimo Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 9:30 am in the funeral chapel followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at the Catholic Church of St. Peter, 3501 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. The Rev. Kenneth J. Wolnowski, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
