Frederick F. Wetzler, 84, US Marines Veteran

He was born March 26, 1923 in Vermilion and has been a life long area resident.
He was a veteran of the US Marines serving during WWII.
Mr. Wetzler was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Vermilion, a life member of the Vermilion American Legion #397 and Amvets Post #22. He was an active volunteer with the Cleveland Clinic, Meals on Wheels, and was Chaplin for the Vermilion Veterans Organization. He also enjoyed fixing and collecting different items and traveling with his wife, especially to National Parks.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Karylle (nee Kreilick) Wetzler, sons: Thomas F. Wetzler of Port Orange, FL, and Douglas F. Wetzler of Avon Lake; daughter, Dawn Skodny of Vermilion; and 7 grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Joseph and Bertha (nee Fettel) Wetzler, and sister, Kathryn Nalley.
Friends may call Wednesday, June 20, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.
Services will be held at 11:00 am at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 3747 Liberty Ave. Vermilion, Thursday, June 21, 2007, with the Rev. Terry Parker and Vicar Karleen Kinker officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove
Cemetery, Vermilion where the Vermilion Veterans Council will conduct military honors.
