Robin Ellis "R.E." Worden, 56, A 1969 Graduate of Lorain High School
Robin Ellis "R.E." Worden, 56 of Lorain, died early Sunday morning, June 17, 2007, in the Medical Intensive Care Unit of Community Regional Medical Center, Lorain, Ohio following a two month battle with cancer.
He was born on January 13, 1951 in Lorain, Ohio where he has been a life long resident. Mr. Worden was a 1969 graduate of Lorain High School where he played on the football team. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Muskingum College in 1973. He was employed for thirty years in the BOP shop of U. S. Steel, Lorain, Ohio before retiring in 2002.
Mr. Worden was a member Of Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, Lorain, Ohio. He is remembered by his love of history and his enthusiastic retelling of the Battle of Gettysburg. Mr. Worden enjoyed going to flea markets, high school football games and all sports, watching movies and doing word puzzles and video games.
He is survived by his wife of thirty two years Linda (nee: Krieger) Worden, his sons, John Worden of Elyria, Ohio and Mark Worden of Lorain, Ohio, his daughter, Kathryn Baringer of Baltimore, Maryland, his brother, Kim Worden of Lorain, Ohio and three grandchildren. Mr. Worden was preceded in death by his parents, Robert F. and Velma (nee: McCoy) Worden.
Friends may call Friday, June 22, 2007, 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at Noon in The Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, 647 Reid Avenue, Lorain. The reverend Stephen Sedgwick, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, Amherst Township.
