Rita S. Weingarten, 84, St. Joseph Hospital Volunteer

Mrs. Weingarten was born in Cleveland, Ohio on August 6, 1922. She had attended the University of Illinois. She was a homemaker.

She worked in the US Naval department during WW II. She volunteered at St. Joseph Hospital in Lorain for 25 years. She also did volunteer work for the Hollywood Hospital for several years.

She was very active in the Agudath B'nai Israel Synagogue, Lorain.

Mrs. Weingarten is survived by her husband Leo L. Weingarten, son Richard Weingarten of New Haven, Conn and a daughter Sandra Weingarten of Bryn Mawr, PA.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jacob and Sabrina (nee Borden) Siegelman.

Funeral services will be Sunday, June 24, 2007, at 12:00 PM in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, Ohio 44052.

Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery Lorain, OH.
