Jeanette M. Kish, 72, Retired Mascon Toy Employee

Jeanette M. Kish, (nee Whitney), age 72, of Lorain, died Saturday, June 23, 2007, at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center following an extended illness.

Mrs. Kish was born in Amherst, Ohio on November 29, 1934 and had been a life-long resident of Lorain.

Jeanette was employed as an elevator operator at the former Broadway Building in Lorain. She later worked as an assembler for the Steel Stamping Company and its successor, the Mascon Toy Company. She retired in 1975 following seventeen years of service with the manufacturer.

Mrs. Kish’s interests included crocheting, spending time with her pet dogs, and reading romance novels. She also enjoyed raising salt water sea horses.

She is survived by her husband of fifty-three years Thomas W. Kish, Sr., daughter Renee Demich of Amherst and her husband Greg, son Thomas W. Kish, Jr. of Amherst and his wife Paula Jo, four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, sister Darlene Wilhelms residing in Indiana, and brothers Gerald Whitney, Gene Baumert and Ron Baumert all of Lorain.

She was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Alice Marie (nee Quashnefski) Whitney and granddaughter Erin Kate Kish.

Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel , 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral chapel with the Reverend Edgar Anthony, Pastor of Ss. Peter and Paul Lutheran Church in Sheffield Township officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon.
