Maureen Byrne, 86, Born in Ireland & Lived in England Most of Life

Maureen Byrne, 86, of Lorain, died Friday, June 29, 2007 at Community Regional Medical Center in Lorain.

She was born October 11, 1920 in Dublin, Ireland and had resided in the Lorain area since 1955. She had lived in England most of her life.

During World War II she assisted with the war effort in England.

Maureen was a member of St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Lorain.

She is survived by her son Brian Byrne of Amherst, daughter Patricia Yug of Lorain, son Patrick Byrne of Vienna, Virginia, daughter Maureen S. Byrne of Vermilion, 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, sister Kathleen Joyce of London, England and brother Michael Maguire of San Francisco, California. She was preceded in death by her husband Patrick P. Byrne in 1986 and son Kevin T. Byrne in 1980.

The family will receive friends Sunday 4-6 p.m. at the Gluvna Shimo Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be held Monday at 9:00 a.m. in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, 310 8th St., Lorain. The Rev. James Becherer will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
