Helen Dennis, 95, Charter Member Of Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church

Mrs. Dennis was born in Caldwell, Ohio on March 21, 1912 and had been a resident of Lorain County since 1931.

An charter parishioner of Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Elyria Township, Helen was also a member of the church’s Altar & Rosary Society. For more than ten years she had been employed by the Clearview School District in the housekeeping department.

In her free time she enjoyed league bowling and participated regularly in the Lorain King and Queen League.

She is survived by sons Ronald Dennis of Sheffield Township, Robert Dennis of Elyria, eight grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and three great, great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph in 2000, by son Richard in 1995, by her parents John and Ann (nee Miklos) Antus, by brothers Michael, Andrew, Richard, and John, and by sisters Ann Kasten, Marie Rhodaberger, and Margaret Dancisko.

Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel – 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain, where a rosary service will be conducted by the officers and members of the Saint Vincent de Paul Altar & Rosary Society at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Saturday beginning with closing prayers offered in the funeral chapel at 9:00 a.m. and will be followed by the celebration of a funeral mass at 9:30 a.m. in Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 41295 North Ridge Road, Elyria Township. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.

The family suggests that memorial contributions in her name be made to Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 41295 North Ridge Road, Elyria, Ohio 44035.
