June M. McDonald, 73, Past VFW Post 451 Auxiliary President

June M. McDonald, (nee: Wright), age 73, of Lorain, died Wednesday July 18, 2007 in the emergency room of Community Health Partners Hospital & Surgical Center.

She was born in Lorain on June 1, 1934 and was a graduate of Lorain High School as a member of the Class of 1954-A. In 1985 June and her late husband moved to Fremont, Ohio and subsequently returned to Lorain in 1993.

Mrs. McDonald was extremely active as a Life Member and Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary of Mullen-Murray Post # 451 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Lorain. She also served as past VFW Ladies District President as well as the County VFW Council President.

A parishioner of Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Elyria Township, June enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo, and reading with a special interest in Danielle Steele novels.

Survivors include daughters Denise McDonald-Curry and Mary Beth McDonald both of Lorain, Paula Zimmerman and Kimberly Humphrey both of Clyde, Ohio, and Roberta Schau of Tennille, Georgia, sons Theodore McDonald of Wayne, Ohio and Kenneth McDonald of Lorain, eleven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and sisters Christine DeMarco of Amherst and Lillian Thomas of Lorain.

She was preceded in death by her husband John in 1998, by her parents Theodore and Dorothea (nee: Scherach) Wright, and by brothers Frank and Theodore Wright.

Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Monday beginning with closing prayers offered in the funeral chapel at 9:00 a.m. and will be followed by the celebration of her funeral mass at 9:30 a.m. in Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 41295 North Ridge Road, Elyria Township. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
