Clara I. Schaffer, 81, Dedicated House Wife
Clara I. Schaffer (nee Wilber) 81 of Lorain, died Friday, July 27, 2007 in her home following a lengthy illness.She was born November 12, 1925 in Clarksfield, Ohio. She was a Lorain resident for 61 years coming to Lorain in 1946.
Mrs. Schaffer was a dedicated house wife and mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed reading and nature.
She was a member of The Wings of Faith Church, Lorain.
Among the survivors are her sons Charles Schaffer of Wellington, Lonnie Schaffer of Lorain, Leland Schaffer of Waynesburg, Pennsylvania and Richard Schaffer of Sheffield Lake; Mary Royster, Lorelei, Brenda and Shirley Schaffer all of Lorain, Kathryn Clark of Bay Village and Linda Orr of Newfreeport, Pennsylvania; twenty grandchildren and thirty six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Leonard F. Schaffer in 2003; her parents Leland and Maggie Wilber; sons Leonard F. Schaffer, Jr. and James Schaffer; brothers Leonard Wilber and Lloyd Wilber.
Friends may call Monday, July 30, 2007, 5:00 to 9:00 PM at the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, Ohio. The funeral service will be Tuesday, July 31, 2007, 10:00 AM in the funeral home. The Reverend Charles Hawes, pastor of Bethel Chapel Church, Lorain will officiate. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
