Alice O. Budka, 68, A 1957 Graduate of Vermilion High School

Alice O. Budka (nee Falls), 68 of Vermilion, died unexpectedly on Sunday, August 5, 2007 at Community Health Partners in Lorain.

She was born on May 3, 1939 in Samantha, Alabama and has lived most of her life in Vermilion.

She graduated from Vermilion High School in 1957 and attended St. Joseph School of Nursing to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was a devoted homemaker to her husband and six children, participating in many of their school activities, including the PTA at Lowell Elementary School in Lorain where she served as president. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church
in Vermilion and had also worked for over 10 years as the jobs program director for the Lorain County Office on Aging.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Jan Budka of Vermilion; daughters, Michelle Boardwine of Vermilion, Kellie Towner of Elyria and Cally Parker of Elyria; sons, Allen Budka of Colorado Springs, CO, Jan Richard Budka of Homosassa, FL and Tony Budka of Vermilion; 13 Grandchildren and 21 Great-Grandchildren; mother, Zetha (nee Thompson) Falls of Vermilion; brother, Richard P. "Sonny" Falls of Central Point, OR.

She was preceded-in-death by her father, Richard W. Falls in 1988 and a brother, Onyx Aaron Falls in 1958.

Friends may call on Wednesday, August 8, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio, where a Christian Wake service will be held at 3:30 p.m.

Closing prayers will be said at the funeral home on Thursday, August 9, 2007 at 9:30 a.m. followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Church, 731 Exchange Street, Vermilion. The Reverend Jim Holmer, pastor, will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
