Clifford Alexander Terry, 82, Enjoyed Puzzles
Clifford Alexander Terry, 82 of Vermilion, died Sunday, August 12, 2007 in New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph after a lengthy illness.He was born January 25, 1925 in Trenton, TN and has been a Vermilion resident since 1958.
He was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was transferred from Ford Motor, Memphis as a Utility man to Ford Motor Co., Lorain, retiring in 1990 after 37 years.
He was a Charter Member of Lakeview Baptist Church, Vermilion where he enjoyed ushering and working in the yard. He was also a member of Amvets Post #22 and Buckeye Builders. He enjoyed puzzles, going to church and gospel music.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Polly Anna (nee Emison)Terry, daughters, Dianne Terry of Elyria, and Paula Fitzpatrick of Lorain; son, Douglas Terry of Vermilion; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brothers, Marion Terry of Bells, TN, and Aubrey Terry of Alamo, TN ; and sisters, Modean Dicus of Manassas, Virginia, and Virginia Terry of Alamo, TN.
Preceding him in death were his parents, William and Ary (nee Robbins) Terry; brother, Floyd Terry, sister, Gladys Buford, and grandson Matthew Terry in 2004.
Friends may call Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2007 from 5 to 9 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home 5345 South St. Vermilion, OH 44089.
Services will be held at the Lakeview Baptist Church, 591 Ferndale Ave., Vermilion, OH on Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007 at 10:30 am with the Rev. Cliff Morris and Rev. Guy Morton, pastor and pastor emeritus of Lakeview Baptist Church, co-officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
