Angel R. Lopez, 79, Enjoyed Vegetable and Flower Gardening
Angel R. Lopez 79 of Lorain died Friday, August 17, 2007 in New Life Hospice Center of Saint Joseph, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.
He was born September 2, 1927 in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. He came to Lorain from Aguadilla in 1948.
Mr. Lopez retired in 1986 from the rolling mill of Lorain - Cuyahoga Works of United States Steel, Lorain. He worked there for 38 years.
He was a member Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain. He was also a member of the United Steel workers Union Local 1104 of Lorain. He enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening.
Among the survivors are his son Hector Lopez of Elyria; daughters Nilda Rosado, and Miriam "Migi" Morell both of Lorain, Celia Stawicki of Sheffield Village; Sisters Pura Lopez, Angela Lopez and Ernestina Lopez of Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, Cruz Lopez of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; 13 Grandchildren and 10 Great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years Laura Lopez (nee Rosado) in 2004; parents Luis and Filomena Lopez; son Angel L. Lopez in 1990; brothers Jose L. Lopez and Armando Lopez; sisters Andr=E9a Lopez and Elidia Lopez.
Friends may call Monday 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, Ohio.
Funeral services will be Tuesday with closing prayers at the funeral home at 8:45 AM followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, South Lorain. Reverend Charles William Bisgrove S. C. J. of Eluru, India will officiate Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
