Michelle M. ''Mickey'' Rokasy, 54, Nurse
Michelle M. "Mickey" Rokasy (nee Corrao), 54, of Amherst Township died unexpectedly Saturday, September 8, 2007 at her home.She was born August 1, 1953 in Lorain and had resided in Amherst Township for the past 18 years.
Mickey was a 1971 graduate of Lorain Catholic High School. She attended the St. Joseph School of Nursing where she graduated in 1972 and became a Licensed Practical Nurse.
She worked at St. Joseph Hospital in Lorain for 20 years and then managed the All Nations Club in Lorain. Later she worked at Ghoulardi’s in Lorain and was presently working as a nurse in Maxim Home Health Care in Westlake.
Mickey enjoyed fishing, flower gardening and traveling and was a member of the Loco Brits Car Club.
She is survived by her husband of 18 years Michael Rokasy of Amherst Township, stepson James Rokasy of Elyria, sisters Jamie Volak and Kathleen Wolak, both of Lorain, nieces Stephanie Seaborn, Ashley Mielcarek and Erica Mielcarek and 4 great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents James and Jean Corrao (nee Sparico) and sister Linda Jones.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 12, 2007 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Gluvna Shimo Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 8 p.m. The Rev. Mr. Robert Dybo, deacon of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Lorain will officiate. Cremation will follow.
