Wilma Rose ''Lala'' Mucha, 90, Enjoyed Crocheting & Baking
Wilma Rose Lala Mucha (nee Stawicki), 90, of Lorain, died Sunday September 9, 2007 after a long illness.She was born January 8, 1917 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.
During the Great Depression Wilma worked at Goodall Clothing in Lorain as a fitter.
She was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Lorain and the church Altar & Rosary Society. She was a member and past president of the Nativity School PTA and was an active volunteer helping to cook at church functions and events.
Wilma was a member of the Knights of St. John Ladies Auxiliary #46, the United Polish Club and the Polish Legion of American Veterans, all in Lorain. She enjoyed crocheting, baking and making afghans.
She is survived by her daughter Charlotte Hyer of Lorain, sons Timothy Mucha of Crawfordsville, Indiana and Gale Mucha of Lorain, 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and brother Ralph Staveski of Amherst.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles on June 6 2003, parents Joseph and Pauline Stawicki (nee Kaplo), a great granddaughter, sisters Helen Zan, Mary Scott and Virginia Chovanec and brothers Raymond Stawicki, Carl Stawicki, Clarence Stawicki, Alvin Staveski and Paul Stavesky.
The family will receive friends Tuesday 4-8 PM at the Gluvna Shimo Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain where the Nativity Altar & Rosary Society will recite the rosary Tuesday at 6:00 PM.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9:30 AM followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 1454 Lexington Ave., Lorain. The Rev. Robert J. Glepko, pastor and the Rev. Mr. Robert Dybo, deacon, will concelebrate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
