Concepcion Gomez, 93, Saint John The Baptist Catholic Church Member
Concepcion Gomez (nee Pardo) 93 of Lorain died Friday, September 14, 2007 in New Life Hospice Center of Saint Joseph, Lorain, following a brief illness.
She was December 8, 1913 in Boveda Lugo, Spain. She came to Lorain in 1950 to join her husband.
Mrs. Gomez was a seamstress for the church in Spain.
She was a member of Saint John The Baptist Catholic Church, Lorain and Our Lady of Guadalupe Society. She was also a member of the Trinity Mission and the Secret Heart Leagues, Immaculate Mary and the Calvary of Christ Associations and was an honorary member of the Paralyzed Veterans of America.
Among the survivors are her daughters Rosemary Gibson of Lorain and Luisa Stachel of Malvern, Ohio, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gumersindo Gomez in 1981, her parents Manuel and Luisa (nee Macia) Pardo, sisters Josefa and Anuncia Pardo.
Friends may call Tuesday, September 18, 2007 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, Ohio.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 19, 2007 with closing prayers at the funeral home at 9:30 AM followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Saint John The Baptist Catholic Church, Home, 2143 Homewood Drive, Lorain. Reverend Father Thomas Smith, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain Ohio.
