William L. Wigton III, 86, World War 2 Amry Veteran who enjoyed sports, books and cars

William L. Wigton III, 86, of Amherst died Friday September 21, 2007 at Golden Acres Lorain County Home from a lengthy illness.

He was born March 21, 1921 in Peking, China, and moved to Lorain County when he was 4 years old.

He was an Oberlin High school Graduate in the class of 1938. He attended Oberlin College for a year, and Baldwin Wallace College for three years.

William also served in World War 2 as a fighter pilot stationed in England.

He worked as a Salesman for May ompany Department Store for 30 years. William also enjoyed football, golf, reading and automobiles.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Anita Wigton (nee Valletta), sons Todd Wigton of Amherst, and William (Chip) Wigton IV of Oberlin, daughters Amy LaCarrubba of California, Cindy Bailey of Sharon Center, OH, and Barbara Kozlowski of Michigan 8 Grandchildren; 5 Great-grandchildren, and Brother George L. Wigton of Auburn, of Maine.

He was preceded in death by Parents Charles Sr.and Elizabeth (Lowry) Wigton, and brother Dr. Charles E. Wigton Jr.

Services will be private. Reichlin-Cooley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
