Natividad Navarro (nee DeJesus), 80, Avid gardener and Homemaker
Natividad "Tavo" Navarro (nee DeJesus) 80 of Lorain died Monday, September 24, 2007 in her home following a lengthy illness.
She was born November 3, 1926 in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico. She came to Lorain the first time in 1952 from San Lorenzo and returned to a year later. She came to Lorain to stay in 1955 and had been a Lorain resident for 52 years.
Mrs. Navarro was a homemaker and mother. She was an avid gardener. She was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain, she was also a member of the church's Altar and Rosary Society. She enjoyed volunteering in the kitchen.
Among the survivors are her husband of 62 years Regino Navarro, sons
Jose L. Navarro of Arlington, Texas, Miguel A., Hector, Gilberto, Nelson and Regino Navarro Jr.,Roberto Navarro of La Grange, Kentucky; daughters Lucia Morell and Carmen L. Ramos both of Bradenton, Florida, Iris Candelario, Judith Figueroa, Silvia Williams and Angela Navarro all of Lorain; brothers Ramiro and Hipolito DeJesus both of Caguas, Puerto Rico; sisters Juana DeJesus, Anna Hilda and Iris DeJesus Patillas, Puerto Rico and Angela Gonzalez of Caguas; 21 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Santos and Lucia (nee Gonzalez) DeJesus, brothers Manolo DeJesus Felix DeJesus and Saturnino DeJesus.
Friends may call Wednesday, September 26th, 2007, 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain. Funeral services will be Thursday, September 27th, 2007 with closing prayers at the funeral home at 8:45 AM followed by Mass of the Resurrection at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, South Lorain. Reverend, Father William A. Thaden, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
