Mary Lou Zinsmeister, 85, Active member of the Cornerstone United Methodist Church
Mary Lou , 85 (nee Nevins) of Amherst died Tuesday, September 25,2007, at the New Life Hospice Center at St. Joseph following a brief illness.
Mrs. Zinsmeister was born in Lorain, OH on November 16, 1921, and moved to
Amherst 56 years ago. She was a 1940 A graduate of Lorain High School.
She was an active member of the Cornerstone United Methodist Church in Elyria. She was a member of the church choir for 70 years. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women and the Mary Circle.
She was a member of the AARP Chapter 3318, Sorosis, Black River Historical
Society, Amherst Hospital Auxiliary, president in 1990 for two years and an
R.S.V.P. volunteer for Amherst Hospital.
Mrs. Zinsmeister was a retired billing clerk for Ohio Edison and had worked
for Lorain County TB & Health Association
She is survived by her daughter Pamela Lane of Woodstock GA, 3 grandsons, 2
great grandchildren and a sister Jean A Cook of Lorain.
Mrs. Zinsmeister was preceded in death by her husband John W. Zinsmeister in
1982, and her parents Charles O. Nevins and Hazel (nee Van Campen) Koontz.
Friends are invited to call Thursday, September 27, 2007, from 3-6 p.m. at Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain.
Funeral Services will be on Friday, September 28, 2007, at 10:30 AM in the
funeral home with Rev. Dale Warrick, pastor of Cornerstone United Methodist
Church, officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery Lorain, OH.
