Juanita Castro, 56, Loved spending time with Nieces and Nephews

Juanita Castro, 56, of Lorain died Friday, October 5, 2007 in her home following a battle with cancer.

She was born June 26, 1951 in Humacao, Puerto Rico. She came to Lorain as an infant. She graduated from Admiral King High School in 1969.


Ms. Castro retired as an administrative assistant and a bailiff for Lorain County probate court judge Corts and prior to that she was administrative assistant to judge Ewers.


She was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain. She was active in Lorain County Democratic Party politics. She was an avid reader she enjoyed sports and was a fan of the Cleveland Indians, Browns and Ohio State. She loved to travel, shop dining, entertaining family and friends. She especially loved spending time with nieces and nephews.


Among the survivors are her mother Bienvenida "Benita" Castro (nee Rosario) of Lorain; Sisters Maria Rodriguez of Lorain and Irma Figueroa of Bloomfield, New Jersey and nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her father Antolin Castro in December 2004 and her brother Julio Castro in July 2004.


Friends may call Tuesday, October 9, 2007 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain.


Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 10, 2007 with closing prayers in the funeral home at 8:45 a.m. then Mass of the Resurection at 9:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. Revernd Willaim A. Thaden, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, Amherst Township.
