Ruth Blankenship, 82, Veteran of the US Army

Mrs. Blankenship was born in Penrod, KY on February 8, 1925 moving to the
Lorain area in 1947.
Mrs. Blankenship was a veteran of the US Army serving during WW II. She was a homemaker, who enjoyed flowers and gardening. She was a member of the Camden Baptist Church, AARP, and also a member of American Legion Post # 30.
She is survived by a son, James Rodney Blankenship of Lorain, daughters; Cindy Blankenship of Midland TX, Judy Elsten of Amherst, Dee Gascoigne of Greenville SC, Becky Lutz of Amanda OH, Donna Lyons of Columbus OH, 18 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and brothers Baker James of Michigan, and Harry James of Penrod, KY.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Blankenship. In 2001, son Tony Blankenship in 1977, her parents Bradley and Winnie (nee Baker) James, brothers Hunter James, and Howard James who was KIA in WW II, and a sister Mary James.
Friends may call Thursday, October 18, 2007 from 7-9 p.m. at Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, Ohio 44052.
Funeral Services will be Friday, October 19, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Terry Brooks, officiating.
Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens Avon with full military honors
