Lorraine E. Poltrone, 82, Lorain County Deputy Sheriff Matron

Photo of Lorraine E. Poltrone Lorraine E. Poltrone (nee Buksar), 82 of Lorain, died Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at her home, following a short illness.

She was born October 17, 1925 in Columbia, Connecticut and has lived in Lorain since childhood.

Mrs. Poltrone had been a Lorain County Deputy Sheriff Matron and had also been in cost accounting for the Lorain County Board of Education in the treasurer's department.

She was a member of St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Lorain. She had served on the Lorain PTA for many years, holding the positions of president and vice-president.

She volunteered at the former St. Joseph Hospital in Lorain and enjoyed reading, traveling and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Salvatore 'Sam' Poltrone of Lorain; sons, Ronald (Lois) of Avon Lake and Dennis S. (Karen) of Medina; daughter, Deborah L. Poltrone of Lorain; 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded-in-death by her parents, Andrew and Eva (nee Lamfry-Porter) Buksar, brothers, Joseph Williams, George Williams and Raymond Williams and a sister, Marjorie Buksar Lamirand.

Friends may call Friday, October 26, 2007 from 4-8 p.m. at the Dombrowski-Humphrey-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 309 7th Street, Lorain. The Reverend Daniel O. Divis, pastor, will be the celebrant.

Interment will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
