Manuel �Manny� Cervantes, 63, Worked at Parker-Hannifin Corporation in Elyria
Manuel Manny Cervantes, 63, of Elyria Township, died Thursday November 15, 2007 in the critical care unit at EMH Regional Medical Center in Elyria after a short illness.He was born June 5, 1944 in Lorain and had resided in Elyria Township for the past 42 years.
Manny was a 1963 graduate of Clearview High School. He worked at Parker-Hannifin Corporation in Elyria as a Final Inspector for over 20 years.
In the late 1950’s and 60’s Manny sang and played drums in a band called Shades of Day. He enjoyed gourmet cooking, yardwork and animals.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years Shirley (nee Wieland), daughters Melissa Cervantes of Elyria Township and Tina Cervantes-Fragapane of Elyria, granddaughters Mariah and Katerina, sister Rita Orozco of Lorain and brother Ronald Cervantes of Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents Michael & Mary Cervantes (nee Kuzniar), sister Lola Flores and brothers Daniel Cervantes, Richard Cervantes and Michael Cervantes.
The family will receive friends Sunday 4-8 PM at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:00 AM in the funeral chapel with the Rev. James Ols, pastor of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Elyria Township, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
