Anna Navalinsky, 88, Parishioner of Saint Nicholas Byzantine Rite

Photo of Anna  Navalinsky Anna Navalinsky (nee Skiba), age 88, of Olmsted Township, and formerly of Lorain, died Sunday November 25, 2007 at her residence following an extended illness.

Mrs. Navalinsky was born in Saint George’s Township, Pennsylvania on March 30, 1919 and moved to Lorain at the age of five. She had also resided in Tucson, Arizona for a several years.

Anna was formerly employed as a private housekeeper.

A parishioner of Saint Nicholas Byzantine Rite Catholic Church in Lorain, her hobbies included crocheting, sewing, and crafting Ukrainian Easter Eggs. She was also an accomplished cook offering soups and cabbage rolls as a personal specialty.

Survivors include a daughter Jane Bernat (and her husband Frank) of Olmsted Township, son Robert (and his wife Linda) Navalinsky of Lorain, three grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and sisters Rose Pashkevich, Magdalene Holzhauer, and Ethel Skiba all of Lorain.

She was preceded in death by her husband John Navalinsky in 2003, by her parents Michael and Rose (nee Kalafaktor) Skiba, by a brother Paul, and by a sister Mary Naymik.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel with the Reverend Nicholas Rachford, Pastor of Saint Nicholas Byzantine Rite Catholic Church officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst,Township.
