Michael Swanson, 78, B.F. Goodrich Retiree
Michael Swanson, age 78, of Lorain, died Thursday December 6th, 2007 at his residence following an extended illness.He was born in Plains, Pennsylvania on August 7, 1929 and had been a resident of Lorain since 1956.
A 1947 graduate of Plains Memorial High School, he was a U.S. Army Veteran who served during the Korean Conflict. He was the recipient of the Occupation Medal, the Japanese-Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Stars, as well as the Combat Infantry Badge, the United Nations Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal.
He was employed as a Development Assistant in the Plastics Molding Group of the B.F. Goodrich Corporation in Avon Lake. He retired in 1992 following a career that spanned thirty-five years with the manufacturer.
Mr. Swanson is survived by his wife of forty-five years Ann (nee Dolinsky), daughter MaryAnn Lopriore of Lorain and her husband Justin, son Michael Swanson of Lagrange and his wife Renee, grandchildren Danielle and Derek, sister Joan Leonard of Swoyerville, Pennsylvania and by brothers Raymond of Lorain, and Eugene of West Chester, Pennsylvania.
He was preceded in death by his parents Nicholas and Mary (nee Adamovich) Swanson, by brother Charles Swanson, by half-brother Peter Krynack, and by half sister Margaret Semanek.
Private family burial services will be conducted in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
