Magdalene Lillian Ravnikar, 87, Active in Slovenian Home
Magdalene Lillian Ravnikar (nee Tomazin), 87, of Amherst Township, died Saturday December 15, 2007 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain.
She was born July 31, 1920 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain and Amherst Township resident.
During World War II Lillian worked at American Stove Works and Thew Shovel in Lorain.
Lillian was an active member of the Lorain Slovenian Home organizing dances, parties and the Friday fish fry. She was a member of the Slovene National Benefit Society Lodge #781 and the Slovene Catholic Union #101.
She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed cooking and baking.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years Adolph Ravnikar, daughter Mrs. Thomas (Kathleen) Umbaugh of Pensacola, Florida, son Richard Ravnikar of Amherst, daughter Jane Bocketti of Manlius, New York and daughter Mrs. Mark (Joyce) Kulyk of Erie, Pennsylvania, 4 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents Michael and Frances Tomazin (nee Malavasic).
