Leonard E. Humphries, 65, Retired Ford Motor Company Transporter

Photo of Leonard E.  Humphries Leonard E. Humphries, age 65, of Lorain, died Sunday December 23, 2007 at the New Life Hospice Center of Saint Joseph following an extended illness.

Mr. Humphries was born in Jodie, West Virginia on February 23, 1942 and had been a resident of Lorain since 1946.

A member of the Good Hope Freewill Baptist Church in Elyria, Mr. Humphries was employed by the Ford Motor Company as a transporter at the company’s Lorain Assembly Plant. He retired from that position in 1981.

Leonard was a member of United Autoworkers Local 425 who enjoyed golf and league bowling in his free time.

He is survived by his wife of forty-four years Faye (nee Hamilton), granddaughters Kelly and Summer Koon, and brothers Dan Davila of Ripley, West Virginia, and Rich Davila of Berlin Heights.

He was preceded in death by his parents Orville and Muriel (nee Sparks) Humphries, and by brothers Reginald Humphries, Gary Humphries, and Craig Davila.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral chapel with the Reverend Paul Peterson, Pastor of the Good Hope Free Will Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township, OH.
