Gayle Russell, 65, Enjoyed Piano, Dancing, Artwork and Travel
Gayle A. Russell (nee Schmidt), 65, of Mitiwanga Park in Huron died Sunday December 30, 2007 at Hospice of the Western Reserve in Cleveland.She was born September 9, 1942 in Amherst and had resided in Mitiwanga Park since 1985. She was raised and grew up in Lorain.
Gayle was a graduate of the Lorain High School 1960 B class and Oberlin Business College.
She worked as a receptionist in various jobs throughout the area.
Gayle was a Cub Scout volunteer for nearly 20 years. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and served as a Regent for 2 years. Gayle enjoyed piano, dancing, woodworking, artwork and travel. She enjoyed socializing and was a friend to many.
She is survived by her companion of 11 years Lou Nelson Nimylowcyz of North Olmsted, sons James D. "Jay" Schuck of Cleveland Heights, Allen E. Schuck of Sheffield Township and William J. Schuck of Reynoldsburg, 9 grandchildren and sisters Rae Young and Janet Gomez, both of Lorain. She was preceded in death by her former husband James Schuck, husband Gary G. Russell, parents Albert and Oletha Schmidt (nee Eldred) and sister Patricia Navalinsky.
The family will receive friends Wednesday 4-8 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain where funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:30 am. The Rev. Dr. Ralph Thompson will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
