Martha A. Kachur, 70, Enjoyed Gardening

She was born April 24, 1937 in Prentiss, Mississippi and had resided in Lorain since childhood.

Martha worked at St. Joseph Hospital in Lorain in the dietary department for 12 years and served as dietary supervisor for two years until 1968.

She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Lorain and had been active with the Admiral King High School Athletic Boosters. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, crafts, cooking and decorating her home.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years Terence Kachur, Sr., of Lorain, son Terence Kachur, Jr. of Holland, Ohio, grandson Terence Kachur III and sister Mary Jane Koski of Lorain. She was preceded in death by her parents Martin & Jimmie Lee McRaney (nee Jordan), sister Mabel Fantin and brothers Martin McRaney, Jr., James McClelland and James “Peck” McClelland.

The family will receive friends Sunday 3-7 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave. Lorain where funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 am. The Rev. Philip Kunz, pastor of St. John United Church of Christ in Lorain, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
