Helen F. Buckosh, 85, Enjoyed Crocheting, Baking, and Spending Time with Family
Helen F. Buckosh (nee Ribaric), 85, of Sheffield Lake, died Tuesday January 22, 2008 at Metro Health Medical in Cleveland.
She was born February 2, 1922 in Midland, PA and had resided in Sheffield Lake for the past 20 years. She had previously lived in Lorain for 66 years.
Helen worked at the former Mascon Toy Company in Lorain as an assembler. She had also worked at National Pharmacy and C-Pak.
She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Sheffield Lake and the women’s guild of the church. She was a former member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Lorain and a member of the KSKJ Lodge #85 and the Lorain Senior Center.
Helen volunteered at the Sheffield Lake Community Center and with the Meals on Wheels program for the past 6 years. She enjoyed crocheting, baking, playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons Robert A. Buckosh of Savannah, GA, James A. Buckosh of Sheffield Village, Theodore Ted Buckosh of Sheffield Lake and Martin A. Marty Buckosh of San Diego, CA, 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and sister Sophie Turner of Columbus. She was preceded in death by her husband Alex J. Buckosh in 1986, grandson Bobby Buckosh in 2001, parents Frank and Barbara Ribaric (nee Cyner), brothers Anthony Ribaric and Fritz Ribaric and sisters Catherine Breno, Mary Koffalt and Agnes Keener.
The fmaily will receive friends Saturday from 4:00 pm until the time of funeral services at 6:00 pm at Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. The Rev. Stephen Shields, pastor of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Sheffield Lake will officiate. Cremation will follow and the ashes will be interred in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township at a later date. A memorial mass will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Sheffield Lake at a later date.
