Emily M. Minnich, 82, Owner/Operator of Kerekes Cafe in Lorain

Emily M. Minnich (nee Ger), 82, of Avon, died Sunday January 27, 2008 at her home after a sudden illness.

She was born February 8, 1925 in Lorain and had resided in Avon since 1959.

Along with her husband Frank, she owned and operated Kerekes Café on 28th Street in Lorain. Prior to that she worked as a bookkeeper at General Industries in Elyria.

Emily was a member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Avon, the Hungarian Reformed Sick Benefit Society, Hungarian Citizens Club, South Lorain Merchants Association, Avon Senior Citizens Group and the Independent Foresters Lodge #1245. She enjoyed social functions and dinners.

She is survived by her niece Helen Nemeth of Clearwater, FL, nephews Joe (Doris) Kerekes of Naples, FL and Gene Kerekes of Virginia, great nieces Judith Hunter of Connecticut and Kathleen Wildman of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, great nephew Brian Nemeth of Miami, FL and additional great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Minnich in 1993, parents Steve & Julia Ger (nee Donath) and brother Steve Ger.
