Paul J. Dunegan, 84, Enjoyed Fishing & Gardening

Paul J. Dunegan, 84 of Vermilion, died Tuesday, January 29, 2008 in Admiral's Pointe Nursing Home, Huron after a lengthy illness.

He was born March 15, 1923 in Cresson, PA and has been a Vermilion resident for over 20 years, moving from Lorain.

He was a veteran of the US Army Air Corp.

He retired from the Lorain Ford Motor, Lorain.

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Vermilion, the Knights of Columbus, Right to Life, and AMVETS Post 22, Vermilion. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and playing with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Rosemarie McConnell, sons: Thomas Dunegan of Avon, Ken Dunegan of Chagrin Falls, and Dick Dunegan of Atlanta, GA; daughter, Janet Dunegan of Denver, CO; 9 grandchildren; brother, Clair Dunegan of Twinsburg; sisters, Margaret Farabaugh of Ashville, PA and Betty Glass of Carrolltown, PA.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Thomas and Gertrude (nee Baker) Dunegan, brothers, Thomas and Regis and sisters, Helen Krug and Verna Kelly, infant sisters, Mary Grace and Theresa and an infant daughter.

Friends may call Thursday, January 31, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio where there will be a Christian Wake service at 3:30 and 7:00 pm Military Honors followed by a Knights of Columbus Service.

Prayers will be said at the funeral home on Friday Feb. 1, 2008 at 11:00 am followed by an 11:30 Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Catholic Church, 731 Exchange St. Vermilion. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
