Jose ''Joey'' Lopez, 57, Enjoyed Playing Cards
Jose Joey Lopez died Thursday, February 7, 2008 in his home following a lengthy illness.
He was born July 26, 1950 in Lorain. He was a life long resident of Lorain. He graduated from Admiral King High School in 1968.
He was a Marine serving during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Lopez retired in 2000 from the blast furnace in Republic Technologies (U. S. Steel), Lorain. He worked there for 30 years. He was a member of Jehovah Witnesses Lorain East Congregation. And the United Steel Workers Local 1104 of Lorain. He enjoyed playing cards, listing to music and sports.
Among the survivors are his wife of 21 years Regina (nee Johnson) Lopez; sons Michael J. and Jose A. (Jennifer) Lopez both of Lorain and Joshua Thompson of Lagrange; daughters Angela R. (Maurice) Rainey and Viviana M. Lopez both of Lorain; brothers Raul, David, Armando, Manuel Lopez all of Lorain; sisters Yolanda (Jose Brillion and Anna Lopez both of Lorain; grand children Sophia Lopez and Josiah Lopez-Agosto both of Lorain and Hailey Thompson of Lagrange.
He was preceded in death by his parents Concepcion and Guadalupe (nee Amador) Lopez; paternal grand parents Salome and Felipa Lopez and maternal grand parents Pedro and Santos Amador.
Friends may call Today from 4:00 to 8:00 PM in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain. A memorial service will be Monday 1:00 PM in the Kingdom Hall, 2330 Skyline Drive, Lorain. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to you favorite charities.
