Veronica T. Nowicki, 85, Lorain Board of Education Retiree

Veronica T. (Sadowski) Nowicki, (nee Drop), age 85, of Lorain, died February 16, 2008 at Community Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Rocks, Pennsylvania on February 2, 1923 and had been a resident of Lorain since childhood.

Mrs. Nowicki was employed as a custodian for the Lorain Board of Education from which she retired in 1978 following nineteen years of service.

Veronica formerly served as a member of the Lorain Police Auxiliary for ten years. She was a member of the Polish American Citizens Club, the United Polish Club, and the Ladies Auxiliary of Post # 38 of the Polish Legion of American Veterans all in Lorain. In her free time she enjoyed crocheting and canning vegetables grown in her home garden.

She is survived by a son Allan A. Sadowski of Lorain, eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, by brothers Steven and John Drop both of Lorain, and by sisters Margaret Cisarik of Lorain and Helen Evans of Parma.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Anthony Sadowski, by her second husband Herman Nowicki, by a son Daniel P. Sadowski, by parents Steven and Ann (nee Vasilik) Drop, by brothers Andrew, Joseph, and Paul Drop, and by a sisters Anna Drop and Mary Kavanah.

Friends may call Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. until time of services at 9:30 a.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. A funeral mass will follow at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 2428 Elyria Avenue with the Reverend David A. Novak presiding. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
