Helen Dolores Sciarini, 83, Worked as a Baker and Cook for Vermilion Schools

Photo of Helen Dolores Sciarini Helen Dolores Sciarini (nee Marks), 83 of Vermilion, died Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at her home.

She was born December 30, 1924 in Brownhelm, OH and has been a life long Vermilion resident.

She worked as a baker and cook for Vermilion Middle School and retired in 1985. She also volunteered at New Life Hospice.

Mrs. Sciarini was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Vermilion and the Catholic Ladies of Columbia. She was an avid reader and bowler. She enjoyed traveling, dancing, gardening, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughters: Anita (Michael) Heys of Columbus, Nadine Goodman of Vermilion, and Paula (Nickolas) Vasu of Lorain; son, Jerry (Patricia) Sciarini of Solon, Ohio; grandchildren: Ann Heyes, Nicholas and Abigail Sciarini, Mason, Cassandra, and Bryce Goodman, and Dante and Natalie Vasu; sisters, Eloise Tyren of Minnesota and Elizabeth (Betty) Gioffredo of Vermilion; brothers, William Marks of Wakeman, and Edward Marks of Vermilion and her companion, Chester Fisher of Vermilion.

Preceding her in death were her husband Dante Daniel Sciarini in 1991; daughter, Natalie Ann Sciarini in 1990; parents, Andrew J. and Elizabeth (nee Mayer) Marks; sister, Theresa Marks; and son-in-law Terry Goodman.
Friends may call Friday, Feb. 22, 2008 from 4-9 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008 at 10:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church 731 Exchange St. Vermilion with Fr. Jim Holmer officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
