Valloyd "Bud' Laux , 78, Enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians
Valloyd J. "Bud" Laux, age 78, of Sheffield Twp. passed away Wednesday March 12, 2008 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph from a short term illness.He was born July 23, 1929 in and had been a lifetime resident of Avon, OH.
He worked as a Hydraulic Engineer at Thew Shovel at later retired in 1977 after working for 29 years. Mr. Laux was also a WW 2 Army Air Force Veteran. He was a member of of Disabled American Veterans Louis Paul Proy Chapter #20 and member of American Legion Post 30.
He enjoyed the Cleveland Indians and Browns, and enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include Peggy (nee Branch-Hubbs) of 29 years, sons Keith (Barb) Clark of Vermilion, Jeffrey Hubbs of Lorain, daughters Theresa Miller of Lorain, Denise Crites of Charlotte NC, Lisa (Kenneth) Hembree of Nova, OH, Debra Clark (Larry) of Jefferson, OH, Nancy (Truman) Shuler of Ben Hur, VA. He also had 16 Grandchildren and 31 Great-grandchildren 1 Great-great grandson. His sisters Vivien Rogers of Yucca Valley, CA, Susan Waldon of Salt Lake City, UT.
He was preceded in death by parents Joseph and Elizabeth (Kolina) Laux, and sister Ruth Polgar.
Visitation hours will be on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Reichlin-Cooley Funeral Home 2920 Broadway in Lorain. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m. Rev. Aaron Webb will be officiating. There will also be military honors will be conducted by Cemetery Elmwood Disabled American Veterans Chapter #20.
