James W. Postel, 52, Accomplished Golfer / Black Diamond Skier
James W. Postel, age 52, of Lorain, died Thursday March 13th at the Cleveland Clinic following a two-year illness.Jim was born in Akron, Ohio and had been a resident of Lorain since 1989. He had previously resided in Cleveland.
A U.S. Army veteran, he was employed as an Operator Technician-Electrical and a Grinder at U.S. Steel Corporation’s Lorain facility for thirty years.
He was an accomplished golfer and Black Diamond Skier.
Survivors include his wife Leigh Steger-Postel, a son Jason of Phoenix, Arizona, stepson Michael W. Steger, M.D. of Delaware, Ohio, and one granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Mildred (nee Porter) Postel.
Visitation will be Monday from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m. until time of reflection services at 8:00 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Private burial rites will be observed later.
