Martin L. Teli, 66, Ford Retiree and Devoted Family Man
Martin L. Teli, beloved husband and devoted father, 66, died Friday, March 14, 2008 at University Hospital of Cleveland following a brief illness.
He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on September 26, 1941. He came to Lorain County in 1957 and lived there for many years prior to moving to Amherst in 2005.
Marty graduated from Brookside High School as a member of the Class of 1959 and was a parishioner of the Catholic Church of Saint Peter in Lorain. He was active in the 1990s as a coach for the Lorain American Legion Traveling Baseball League. Prior to that, he was active as a coach for the Lorain Little League throughout the 1970s and 1980s.
He was employed by Ford Motor Company at its Lorain Assembly Plant for 38 years before retiring in 1997 and was a member of UAW Local 425 and Local 2000. Marty most recently worked in maintenance at Thunderbird Hills Golf Course in Huron.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie # 2875 in Huron. Marty was an avid golfer, enjoyed landscaping and was a fan of ALL sports.
Friends may call Wednesday from 5:00-9:00 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral chapel.
