Mary Krakomperger, 75, Enjoyed Spending Time With Grandchildren
Mary Krakomperger (nee Balla), 75, of Sheffield Lake, died Friday March 14, 2008 at her home from pancreatic cancer.
She was born October 19, 1932 in Lorain and had resided in Sheffield Lake since 1957.
Mary graduated from Lorain High School in 1950. She was employed by Spaid-Flegge Insurance in Lorain as a secretary retiring in 1984.
Mary was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Lorain. She was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking, baking, playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren. She had traveled to Hungary many times.
She is the beloved wife of 55 years of Steve Krakomperger, dear mother of Nancy K. Kurianowicz of North Ridgeville, Janet M. (Ken) Hetrick of Oberlin and Steven A. (Tammie) Krakomperger of Wellington, grandmother of 10, great grandmother of 3, dear sister of Frank (Annetta) Balla of Tucson, Arizona, beloved aunt of 2 and great aunt of 1. She was preceded in death by her parents Frank & Margaret Balla (nee Borocz), grandson Matthew Krakomperger in 2001, sister Elsie Bock and brothers Joseph Balla and Stephen Balla.
The family will receive friends Sunday 2-4, 7-9 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. There will be no visitation or services on Monday. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1305 E. Erie Avenue, Lorain. The Rev. Joseph West, OFM Conv., pastor, will officiate. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain. A luncheon will follow in the funeral chapel.
