Joseph P. Fisher, 94, WWII Army Veteran
Joseph P. Fisher, 94 of Lorain died Thursday, March 20, 2008 at Hearthstone of Lorain following a lengthy illness.Born August 1, 1913 in Lorain, Mr. Fisher was a lifetime resident. He retired as an Occupation Roll Turner from U.S. Steel in 1975 after 36 years of service.
Mr. Joseph was an Army veteran of WW II. He was a member of the St. Joseph Church in Lorain, Senior Citizens of Amherst and the American Legion #118 in Amherst.
Survivors include Step-son Donald Parsh of CA, Step-Daughter Bonnie Romes of Amherst, many step-grandchildren including his caregiver Wendy Esser, many step-great-grandchildren and several step-great-great grandchildren, sister Elizabeth James of Lorain and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Thelma M. Fisher in 1998, step-daughters Shirley Parsh, Lois Thomas, Mary Alice Catalano, step-son LeRoy Parsh, sisters Hildagarde Hazen, Leonarda Smith, and Magdeline Eiden and brother Edward Fisher.
Graveside service will be held Monday, March 24, 2008 at 12 Noon at Ridge Hill Memorial Park. Rev. Mr. Luis Maldonado will be officiating. Military service provided by the Amherst Veterans Military Honor Guard.
