Photo of Leonard D. Kulas Leonard D. Kulas, 66, of Lorain, died suddenly Tuesday March 25, 2008 at his home.

He was born January 26, 1942 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.

Leonard graduated from Lorain High School. He worked as a machinist at American Ship Building in Lorain and then at BF Goodrich and Poly One in Avon Lake before retiring.

He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lorain, the Amherst Eagles and the Bachelor’s Club where he served on the committee to help organize their yearly dance.

Leonard enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, traveling and spending his winters in Florida.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years Nancy (nee Schroeder), son Daniel L. Kulas of LaGrange, daughter Cheryl L. Wilson of Lorain, grandsons Daniel R. Kulas and Christian D. Kulas, both of LaGrange, mother Sophie Kulas (nee Gerron) of Lorain, brother Theodore Kulas of Chicago, Illinois and sisters Sandra Meade of Amherst and Rosemary Sennhenn of Lorain. He was preceded in death by his son David Kulas, father Joseph Kulas and brothers Joseph and Raymond Kulas.

The family will receive friends Thursday 2-4, 7-9 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 2702 Elyria Ave., Lorain. The Rev. David A. Novak, parish administrator, will officiate. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
